ULP price alert – start of new weekly price cycle in Perth

Department of CommerceWednesday, 29 April 2009 most BP sites and some Caltex are increasing their ULP prices up to 126.9 cents per litre (cpl). This signals the start of a new weekly petrol price cycle in Perth.

FuelWatch is encouraging Perth motorists to buy their petrol today or tomorrow while cheaper prices are still available and to always check petrol prices before they buy.

During 2008, Perth did not experience a regular price cycle. Since the re-introduction of a price cycle in recent weeks, Perth’s petrol prices now follow a weekly cycle, where prices increase sharply during a two to three day period and then slowly decrease for the remainder of the week.

Not all brands move their prices at the same time so there is a wide variation in prices from site to site.

Over 170 petrol stations are selling below the metropolitan average of 116.0 cpl tomorrow.

Wensday's cheapest ULP is available for:

  • 109.9 cpl at three sites in the East;
  • 109.8 cpl at Caltex Woolworths Dianella in the North; and
  • 109.7 cpl at United South Lake in the South.

Motorists can find the cheapest prices by checking the FuelWatch website at www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au or by phoning 1300 55 08 08.

Now why don't we have this service in NSW?
