Exemption request from a Dangerous Goods Licence

Workplace Standards Tasmania are preparing to introduce the new Dangerous Substances (Safe Handling) legislation and rescind the existing Dangerous Goods Act 1998. As part of this process, a decision has been made not to renew or issue any licence leading up to the commencement of the new legislation.

It is expected that the new Dangerous Substances (Safe Handling) legislation will commence on 1 July this year.

You can request an exemption from the following licences

• construction of a dangerous goods depot
• alteration to an existing dangerous goods depot
• applying for any other dangerous goods licence
